3	On the basis of Thomson’s model of an atom, explain how the atom is neutral as a whole.	2
4	Why does an object float or sink when placed on the surface of water? OR You find your mass to be 42 kg on a weighing machine. Is your mass more or less than 42 kg?	2

1	Calculate the molecular masses of Cl₂, C0₂, CH₄, C₂H₂, NH₃, CH₃OH. OR Calculate the formula unit masses of ZnO, Na₂O, K₂C0₃, given atomic masses of Zn = 65 u, Na = 23 u, K = 39 u, C = 12 u, and O = 16 u.	3

4	Reeta was wearing a high heel shoe for a beach party, her friend told her to wear flat shoes as she will be tired soon with high heels and will not feel comfortable, (a) Why would one feel tired with high heel shoes on beach?(b) Give the unit of pressure.(c) What value of Reeta’s friend is seen in the above act?	3
5	Find the energy in kWh consumed in 10 hours by four devices of power 500 W each.	3
6	Define vaccine and name two vaccines. OR How many times did you fall ill in the last one year? What were the illnesses? (a) Think of one change you could make in your habits in order to avoid any of/ most of the above illnesses. (b) Think of one change you would wish for in your surroundings in order to avoid any of/most of the above illness.	3
